The Oman Conference for Environmental Sustainability

The Oman Conference for Environmental Sustainability, held on February 28, 2024, under the auspices of the Environment Authority at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre in Muscat, stood as a pivotal gathering advocating for the widespread embrace of low-carbon technologies, strategies, and policies to spearhead decarbonization efforts.

Central to the conference's discourse was the imperative of reducing or eliminating carbon emissions from diverse sources, thereby addressing pressing environmental concerns. Notably, Mr. T.R. Manikandan, a lecturer from UTAS IBRA, contributed to the event's intellectual milieu by presenting his research titled "Impact of Carbon Emission Pricing in Electrical Transmission Network under Constrained Deregulated Electricity Market," which scrutinized avenues for mitigating carbon emissions across various sectors.

His research shed light on the intricacies of carbon emission pricing within the electrical transmission network, offering insights into navigating the challenges of a deregulated electricity market while advancing environmental sustainability goals. The conference served as a dynamic platform fostering dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders, underscoring the importance of integrating sustainable practices across industries such as energy and manufacturing.

Through collective endeavors aimed at adopting low-carbon initiatives, the event marked a significant stride towards realizing a sustainable and greener future, emblematic of the shared commitment to environmental stewardship and proactive mitigation of climate change.
