ICEC organized an educational trip for Advance Diploma computer students. Students with the course lecturer visited OMANTEL, Ibra on 16th November, 2022 as a part of their Course activity for the courses Telecommunication-II and Computer Networks.

During the visit, the students were able to get knowledge on Power Supply units for the entire systems, 2G,3G,4G BTS, Fiber Optical Communication systems, and the different types of antennas used for different wireless technologies.

OMANTEL Engineers Mr.Saeed Al-Habsi, Mr.Ali Al-Busaidi and Amar Al-Harthy explained the operations of different divisions in OMANTEL. This visit helps the students to understand on the concepts like Transmission, Mobile and Fixed line divisions. Students understand the operation of BTS and the associated units like Transceiver, Power amplifier, Multiplexer, Antenna, Alarm extension system.

The total number of students attended the visit is 15. The students were accompanied by their Course Lecturer Mr. Upkar Singh Kandhari.
