New Students Induction Program

The College of Economics and Business Administration held induction program for new students in BS 110 on 25 September 2022.

Dr. Habiba Al-Mughairi, Head, College of Economics and Business Administration, welcomed the students and introduced new students to CEBA. She gave a brief introduction on CEBA. She motivated the students to perform well in both academics and extra-curricular activities.

Dr. Nithya R, Lecturer in Accounting and Finance, briefed on the strategic plan of the University. She briefed them on the Vision, mission, goals, values, and graduate attributes. She highlighted that every student must understand the strategic plan contents to graduate successfully.

Mr. Abdullah Thanseer the CEBA registrar enlightened the new students by introducing them to the new degree audit and showing the roadmap of courses in each level. He briefed about the registration process, probation, GPA, CGPA calculation and the academic requirements for the students to move to the next level of study. He also discussed on how to improve or withdrew courses as per the bylaws.

Ms. Fathiya Al Salmi, HoD of counselling, motivated the students and elaborated on the various support services available in Student Affairs department. She highlighted that the students could approach ask for counseling services whenever they face any difficulties. She informed the students that the counseling department would support to overcome students’ personal hurdles so that they can focus well on studies.

Ms. Jasmine, Lecture in Accounting and Finance briefed the students on the Department Society and Extra-curricular activities. She shared information on the avenues available for the students to take part in the student competitions both internal and external.

Dr. Issa Saleh Hamood Al Amri, the CEBA counsellor enlightened the students on advising and counselling services available to the students in CEBA. He motivated the new students by enlightening them on how to study and as per the plan. He also suggested them to attend tutorials for a clear understanding of the concepts by registering in the online tutorial system. He encouraged the students to regularly meet their advisors for academic counseling.

Ms. Manar Al-Aisri a student at bachelor level gave motivational talk by highlighting the importance of completing courses as advised by the advisors. She shared her experiences with the new entrants, and which made her more successful in both academics and extra-curricular activities. She motivated by insisting on participating in all the student competitions inside and outside the university. She made them to understand the importance of English language skills, which will help the students to be successful.

Finally, the program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Anil Kumar. K, Lecturer in the College of Economics and Business Administration.
