ICEC Hosted a Guest Lecture at Telecommunication Regulatory Authority

ICEC organized a seminar and educational trip to Telecommunication regulatory authority on 31-3-22.

Advance diploma and Btech telecommunication students participated. On behalf of ICEC,this event was organized by Mr.Mohamed Syed Ibrahim OJT coordinator. TRA gave a warm welcome to UTAS-Ibra students and SQU participants.

The speaker Eng. Mahmood Omar Alzadjali currently leads the Quality of Service and Universal Service department in the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, holds 20 years of experience in the Telecom Sector,underscored the purpose of the educational visit. He also added the importance of TRA (Telecommunication regulatory authority) in sultanate of Oman and enlightened the audience that in order to reach the advanced stage in the field of communication also he derived the need and the support from young graduates.

The seminar started with an awareness of the significance of mobile technologies. Also provided insight into the following areas:

  • Generations of Mobile Technology
  • Enhanced Mobile BroadBand (eMBB) techniques
  • Ultra-Reliable and Low-Latency Communications (URLLC)
  • Mobile market in MENA [GCC Arab states]
  • Mobile technology Challenges – Infrastructure, Frequency Band and Spectrum
  • 5G Commercial Launch and Edge Computing
  • Future Technology Implementations

Mr. Sultan Saif Nasser Al Khamisani, Assistant Specialist added informative information on the postal sectors. Followed by the question and answer session which encourages the participants to explore in detail the background, logic, and technical concepts of mobile technologies. Mr. Mohd. Ibrahim & Mr. Rashid delivered the closing remarks and appreciated the participants and thanked the speakers for sparing their valuable time with our students. The feedback on the event was collected from the participants.
