IEEE – Ibra bagged the MOST ACTIVE STUDENT BRANCH AWARD in Oman

Last Tuesday, 15th of December 2020, the IEEE-Oman Section marked its 2nd Annual Gathering, which was held virtually thru the Zoom online platform. The gathering started at 4 PM (Muscat Time) and was filled with different activities and talks that focused on the theme “Volunteering for a Better Community”. It was attended by IEEE Section Officers, Engineering professionals, and student members from different parts of Oman.

During the said event, IEEE-Ibra Branch has been recognized as the “Most Active Student Branch” in the Sultanate. The IEEE Oman Section Vice Chair presented the award and IEEE- Ibra Student Branch counselor, Mr. K. Shamganth received it on behalf of the group. Some of our student officers and members were also present at the ceremony.

IEEE- Ibra Branch is part of the thirteen (13) Student Branches of the IEEE – Oman Section, and has been a part of this community for years. It became a venue for the students to bridge their student experiences to the real engineering world. The year 2020 is a very challenging year for everyone due to the pandemic, but adversity did not hinder the branch to reach out to our beloved students and some selected communities and instead used adversities to its advantage.

This award sealed the year with gratitude, joy and draws more inspiration for the coming years. The branch will continue its dedication to providing an avenue for our future engineers in enriching their knowledge and be able to be part of this prestigious organization in the early part of their careers.

Congratulations and more power to the IEEE-Ibra Branch advisors, student officers, and members. Keep it up!
