Educational Technology Center (ETC) participated in the ICT’s Open Day 2019 under the supervision of Mr. Wahab Al Hussini, Head of ETC and with the amiable support from Mr. Abdullah Musallem Al-Maskari and Mr. Majid Al- Mahrehzi, Head of Sections of Computer Services Section (CSS) and Library Services Section (LSS) respectively.
Spearheaded by the College Administration, the event aimed to provide a venue for showcasing student’s skills and talents through a variety of creative and innovative ideas and concepts.
The said annual event was held on 19th March 2019 in ICT campus, it started with an opening ceremony headed by the College Dean, Dr. Azza Ahmed Said Al Maskari and the Wali of Ibra, Mr. Hamad Salim Al-Aghbari as the Chief Guest. Following the ceremony were exhibitions and presentations by the participating students which were witnessed by delighted staff and students.
The ETC with the helped of Educational Technology (ET) Friends namely, Ahlam Hamad Khatar Al-Bahluli, Sheikh Said Al-Rashdi, and Zainab Abdullah Al-Mashrfi, a group of students who actively participated in the center’s activities and initiatives. They presented and showcased the following:
- A Video on ETC Services which showcases the main services of the center. It briefly discussed the center, sections, and the services it offers to the stakeholders.
- A Tutorial on ProQuest, Moodle (Turnitin), and Student Request System (SRS) which showcase the functionalities and how to's of the mentioned software as learning tools used in the college. The Student Request System (SRS) was also demonstrated as a platform for submitting requests and concerns of students.
- A Studio-like Photo Booth which showcases the resources and technical expertise of the center’s event management committee. This allows interested staff, students, and guest to take photos with backdrop of their choice. Copies of photos were sent to their email afterwards
The presentation and activities were another result of ETC teamwork and hard work. Thanks and appreciation to all especially to the Open Day Working Committee led by the Chairperson, Ms. Elsie V. Isip.
