A two-day event - “Muscat Securities Market Awareness Program” was organized by the Department of Business Studies on 13th November, 2018 (for Business Students) and 14th November, 2018 (for All college staff and students).

The timings on both days are from 10.00 AM to 01.00 PM in ELC Main Hall. A total of 122 students and 23 staff have attended the program. Two Representatives from Muscat Securities Market (Mr. Kamal Bin Rashid Al Hinai, Awareness Specialist and Mr. Talal Hilal Al Harrasi, Trading Specialist,) one representative from Capital Market Authority (Mr. Nawaf Hamadan Ali Al Abri, Media Specialist), one representative from Omani Securities Association.

(Mr. Issa Mossa Al- Maimani) and Muscat Clearing & Depository (Mr. Ibrahim Ahmed Sulaiman Al Balushi) have conducted the program. The program started with the welcome address by Dr. Fatma Al Harthy, HoD of the Department of Business Studies. She has explained the core of the event and the expertise of event organizers to the participants and encouraged all to avail the takeaways of the program. The event encompassed two activities. The first one contains interactions with the representatives from all the four organizations and the second one is the “Mock Stock Investment Game” conducted by Mr. Kamal Bin Rashid Al Hinai).

The resource persons were well prepared and the sessions were well attended. The event enlightened our students & staff on the role of Muscat Securities Market in creating the awareness. The “Mock Stock Investment Game” helped the participants to the practicalities & intricacies behind the actual “buying and selling” of stocks. At the end of the program the guests were honoured with certificates of appreciation for the service rendered to us. The department extended heartfelt congratulations in making the event a grand success and a memorable one.
