The Staff Development Committee of the Department of Business Studies conducted a workshop on ‘Flip Activity’ for its staff on 25th October 2018 at 2.00 PM in BS132.
The resource person for the session was Mr. Ramkumar from Department of I.T. The session started with a formal welcome note by Mr. Joshi.
The resource person emphasized on flipped classroom as an instructional strategy and a type of blended learning which reverses the traditional learning environment by delivering instructional content, often online, outside of the classroom. It moves activities, including those that may have traditionally been considered homework, into the classroom.
In a flipped classroom, students watch online lectures, collaborate in online discussions, or carry out research at home while engaging in concepts in the classroom with the guidance of a mentor. The resource person also trained staff on making presentations and video lectures. The session as a whole was very informative and the response from participants was overwhelming. The session closed with a formal vote of thanks by the Coordinator of Staff Development Committee.
