Shinas College of Technology hosted SITAM 2017(Symposium on Information Technology and Applied Mathematics) at Shinas. Mr. Ibrahim Al Balushi, VALE, Oman was the chief guest and he delivered the inaugural address.
It was followed by a Plenary Talk by Mr. Francis, SQU, Oman and Concurrent Technical Sessions by guest speakers and presenters from distinguished colleges and industry. Ms. Faiza Rashid Al-Harthy, HOD/IT directed the R&D team of IT Department to prepare and guide students for SITAM 2017. Dr. S.V.S. Ramaraju (Lecturer-R&D coordinator / IT Dept) and Dr. V. Mathivanan (Lecturer- Member - R&D / IT Dept) identified fifteen students from IT Department and encouraged them to participate in SITAM 2017.
The paper “Pros and Cons of Information Technology Outsourcing” presented by the student Ms. Hanan Saleh Al-Alawi (ID NO: 36J121533) received the BEST PAPER AWARD.
Nine papers sent by IT students are accepted for presentation in concurrent technical sessions. Dr. V.Mathivanan, Dr. S.V.S.Ramaraju, Ms. Amabelle Oliva, Mr. Chandrasekhar Gangipelli, Lecturers in IT Dept., participated in SITAM 2017.
