Workshop on Project Development NAMA AMBASSADORS

The Industrial Link Committee of Engineering Department hosted a workshop entitled “Nama Ambassador” at ICT Main Hall on 8th March 2017. Some Engineering staffs and selected B.Tech students participated in the event.

The first session “Save Energy of Oman” was facilitated by Mr.Hilal Mousa Al Abri, Public Relations Officer, Nama Group. Several topics were discussed like, power distribution, sustainable energy, various methods of energy generation, future energy, environmental and social awareness. Various tips and ideas were suggested regarding the strategic use of energy at the micro and macro level. This session include some student-centred learning activities wherein the participants were involved in pilot project model setup for wind power, hydro power and solar power. During the interactive session, Mr. Hilal was so prudent to answer all the questions raised by Engineering students and staffs.

The second session was facilitated by Mr. Bader Ahmed Al Habsi, Ministry of Education & Issa Al Jhadami, Nama Group Training Officer. This technical session focused on the present and future energy requirements of Oman economy and the need to find alternative energy sources. The positive and negative side effects on the environment were also presented.

At the closing program, the workshop facilitators were given certificate of appreciation and Mr. Mohamed Syed Ibrahim, Industrial link committee Co-chair gave a vote of thanks. The participants were very inspired as they share their views on what they learned during the technical session.
