An Interview with the Asian games medal winner Mr. Barkat Al-Harthi

The ELC Research and Consultancy Committee, as part of its research endeavor to come up with a theme-based reader for the Foundation students, conducted an interview with the well-known athlete, Mr. Barkat Al-Harthi.

The committee is working on a reader which focusses on local people, noteworthy policies and contemporary problems of Omani society. It also intends to foreground eminent individuals with a view to bringing their achievements to the forefront by adding them in the reader.

Mr. Barkat Al-Harthi is a two-time Olympian and a medal winner in Asian games 2010. His was the only medal for Oman in Asian games 2010 and the last medal came in 1988. It took 22 years and a Barkat Al-Harthi to bring another medal to Oman. Fodder for thought.

The interview was about his experiences in Asian games, London Olympics and at Rio Olympics where he missed out by a very narrow margin. His answers will surely be an inspiration for young Omanis and students.

Ibra College thanks him and wishes him well for Tokyo 2020.
