Student Guidance committee of IT Department conducted a Counselling Program for 3rd, 4th and 5th Probation Students on 31-10-2017 in IT105 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm.
The resource person for this program was Dr. Issa Saleh Hamood Al-Amri, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs. Dr. Issa discussed about the importance of having strong willpower, confidence and determination to do better and improve academic performance.
In his presentation, he gave the inspirational example of talented Safiya Abdullah Mohammed Al Bahlani, an Omani artist, creative designer and motivational speaker on her successful journey as an artist despite her physical challenges. Dr. Issa encouraged the students to give their best possible efforts to come out of probation and advised them to follow up the self-study and tutorial plan, be more connected with the advisor. He advised the students how to empower their mind with a high level of concentration.
A one to one open discussion with students about their difficulties and questions were answered by Dr. Issa. IT Department HOD-IT Faiza Rashid Ammar Al-Harthy, at the end of the session, advised and encouraged the students for the betterment of their academic performance, reiterated to be confident, determinant to come out of probation.
