Prerequisites Students who score between 51%-70% in the Placement test and students who pass the Elementary level
Objectives
The students should be able to:

Listening
L3L1 - Identify the overall purpose of a live or recorded 3-4 minutes, general nature spoken discourse of (a) description of a place, object or person (b) instruction or any other familiar topic.(skimming)
L3L2 - Extract details, general information from 3 to 4 minutes of live or recorded dialogues and monologues of general purpose, during and after listening.(intensive listening)
L3L3 - Extract specific information from 3 to 4 minutes of live or recorded dialogues and monologues of general purpose during listening.(scanning)
L3L4 - Extract information on relationship between speakers, register (e.g. formal or informal) from 3 to 4 minutes of live or recorded dialogues and monologues of general purpose.
L3L5 - Follow spoken instructions in order to carry out a task with a number of stages.
L3L6 - Recognize words indicating topic change.
L3L7 - Recognise stress patterns within words
L3L8 - Taking Notes: Taking simple notes from monologues & dialogues.

Speaking and Pronunciation:
L3S1 - Articulate isolated words with accurate stress pattern
L3S2 - Recognise & Articulate intonation patterns e.g. the falling tone and the rising tone, in academic and general purposes discourse.
L3S3 - Talk about local issues/food/ weather/entertainment/any other topic from the L3 course book.
L3S4 - Converse by producing correct statements, questions, and commands (i.e., interact) in less familiar contexts with some detail.
L3S5 - Provide instructions with detail on how to do something (a process)
L3S6 - Express/ask for an opinion on any topic dealt in the classroom.
L3S7 - Provide descriptions (people/place/things/graphs/charts)
L3S8 - Narrate a story/past event/life of a hero/familiar person.
L3S9 - Talk about plans for future
L3S10 - Express an agreement/disagreement on any topic dealt in the classroom
L3S11 - Make requests in a given situation using the target language.
