ITSE1203 Introduction to Web Technology 3 Credit Hours
Prerequisites ITAD 1100
Goal To introduce to students the use of various web client tools and technologies, following the standards set forth by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
ObjectivesOutcomes
The students should be able to:

1. Understand the Internet and WWW, browsers, protocols, search engines, and domain names.
2. Acquire knowledge on the different types of web design along with the techniques, principles,and standards set forth by the W3C, using web tools and technologies.
3. Acquire proficiency in writing markup language tags, design style sheets, and client-side scripting (i.e. writing HTML 5 tags, designing CSS, and writing basic JavaScripts).
4. Appreciate the use of various client web tools and technologies
The students should be able to:

  1. Discuss the Internet and WWW, its evolution, web client, web browsers, HTTP protocols, search engines, and domain names.
  2. Discuss web client concepts, client-side scripting languages and technologies.
  3. Discuss the different types of web design along with the techniques, principles, and standards set forth by W3C.
  4. Write markup language tags (such as HTML 5 tags) for headings, paragraphs, line breaks, horizontal line, changing the font style, text alignments, different lists, hyperlinks, media objects such as images, audio, video, and animations, tables, forms, frames, etc.
  5. Design style sheets (such as Cascading Style Sheets).
  6. Write client-side scripts (such as JavaScripts) for basic form handling.
  7. Develop static websites.
