The Department of Business Studies, a new programme started in September 2003, offers programme at the Certificate, Diploma and Higher Diploma Level.

The Baccalaureate degree (4th year of the program) is currently offered only in the Higher College of Technology in Muscat.

Presently the department offers four major specializations: B. Tech - Office Management, B. Tech - Human Resource Management, B. Tech- Accounting & Finance. It is divided in to 3 Semesters:

Fall: Semester 1 (September to January)- 18 weeks

Spring: Semester 2 (January to May)- 15 weeks

Summer: Semester 3 (May to June) 8 weeks

Academic Achievements:

Dr. S. Akhilandeshwari for qualifying PhD in Management from Bharathiar University in September 2009

Book Publications:

Dr. G. Ramesh for publishing a book on "Research Methods in Rural Development" published by Deep & Deep Publications Pvt Ltd, New Delhi on September 2009.

Presentations on Seminar/Journal:

Dr. J. Paul Sunder Kirubakaran has published an article "The competency of India's major ports in enhancing the trade through containers - crticial review" published in Global Management Review July-Dec 2009 issue.
Dr. S. Sarangapani presented a paper on "Instigating changes to build up innovative and learning suclture in organizations." at the International seminar at the Sairam Institute of Management Studies, Chennai, India on 24 September, 2009. His research paper was published in the book titled "Impact of Economic Crisis in Global Business Scenario - Human Resource Management" by Anaguram Publishers, Chennai India.
